1. Man in black (Johnny Cash)
I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin’ in the hopeless hungry side of town.
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he’s a victim of the times.
I wear the black for those who’ve never read
Or listened to the words that Jesus said
About the road to happiness through love and charity.
2. The winner takes it all (ABBA)
I don’t wanna talk
About the things we’ve gone through.
Though it’s hurting me
Now it’s history.
I’ve played all my cards
And that’s what you’ve done too
Nothing more to say,
No more ace to play.
3. Nothing compares to you (Sineàd O’Connor)
It’s been seven hours and fifteen days
since you took your love away.
I go out every night and sleep all day
since you took your love away.
Since you’ve been gone I can do whatever I want,
I can see whomever I choose,
I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant,
but nothing,
I said nothing can take away these blues,
’cause nothing compares,
nothing compares to you.
4. Strange Fruit (Billie Holiday)
Southern trees bear strange fruit,
Blood on the leaves and blood at the root,
Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze,
Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees.
5. Everybody hurts (REM)
If you’re on your own in this life,
The days and nights are long,
When you think you’ve had too much
Of this life to hang on,
Well, everybody hurts,
Sometimes, everybody cries.
6. The End (The Doors)
Of our elaborate plans, the end.
Of everything that stands, the end.
No safety or surprise, the end.
I’ll never look into your eyes...again.
7. Crying (Roy Orbison)
You said so long and
Left me standing all alone,
Alone and crying,
Crying, crying crying.
8. All By Myself (Eric Carmen)
Livin’ alone,
I think of all the friends I’ve known,
But when I dial the telephone
Nobody’s home.
9. Tears in heaven (Eric Clapton)
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Will it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong, and carry on
Cause I know I don’t belong
Here in heaven.
10. One (Metallica)
Darkness imprisoning me,
All that I see,
Absolute horror.
I cannot live,
I cannot die.
